The Palestra acheived a BREEAM Very good rating in 2007.
BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) is the world’s leading environmental assessment method for buildings (with almost 100,000 buildings certified and over half a million registered). It sets the standard for best practice in sustainable design and has become the de facto measure of a building’s environmental performance.
Developing the projectAlsop Architects and structural engineers Buro Happold, who were novated to Skanska under the design/build contract, were responsible for producing design development of the distinctive scheme. In addition, Aukett carried out the environmental services design enabling construction works to commence on site during February 2004.
Constructing the projectConstruction of a 12-storey commercial development known as Palestra. Working with its M&E company, Skanska provided the client with a streamlined, focused and cost effective integrated solution.
