In 2008 Skanska was awarded the contract to construct of Two Kingdom Street, the second Development Securities contract awarded after the success of One Kingdom Street. This state-of-the-art 13-storey building was completed in 2010.
Two Kingdom Street is a vibrant building over looking the main A40 road into London. A striking building with it’s fully glazed atria that allows the passage of natural daylight right the way through the building. The building has solar heating and many environmental friendly initiatives including EcoDisc electricity saving lift motors.
The building consists of 350,000 sqft new build office development. Consisting of 10 office floors and 2 levels of studio space. Large multi level Atrium, served by 3 fully scenic lifts. The building is accessed from the south with panoramic views through the atria north.

SustainabilityA number of sustainable measures were adopted throughout the construction phase in regards to energy & water usage and waste management. Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) were used to monitor continual improvement of environmental performance on site.

Constructing the projectThe project valued at around £88m involved the construction of a 13-storey state of the art building, comprising 46,200 square metres (Gross External Area). Two Kingdom Street, was designed around a grand multi-level atrium with ten floors of flexible office space and two below-podium floors of Studio workspace for business starter units.
To undertake this project, Skanska put together a team, which drew upon the expertise of its building, mechanical and electrical, ground engineering and specialist Operating Units.
Creating this “Skanska team”, meant that Skanska were able to offer Development Securities a unique approach, which met technical requirements but which also drew on previous Skanska landmark building experience, providing a solution that delivered a sustainable building which is sympathetic to its surroundings.
