BREEAM 'Excellent' 2007Skanska's team at Dashwood House have been awarded a BREEAM 'Excellent' rating, scoring over 70% following a BREEAM Office 2005 Design and Procurement Assessment which took place earlier in 2007. The team were highly commended for their environmental performance on these projects.
Developing the projectWorks comprised partial demolition of an existing 15-storey office building including the removal of external cladding, and full internal strip out back to the structure.
Constructing the projectDuring the reconstruction phase, Skanska added a further four floors. The removal of heavy plant rooms at the upper levels enabled the additional floors to be constructed without increasing the foundations. The external paved and planted areas were upgraded. Existing granite cladding was replaced by high quality unitised double glazed cladding units.
