Projects in progress
Riverside Transport Museum, Glasgow
This project is typical of the highly conceptualised building that this practice is famous for. The client, Glasgow City Council, has commissioned this building which is sited next to the river Clyde in the old dockyards. The building will house a major transport museum and it's appearance reflects the flowing shape of the river it stands next to and also the tall ships which are often moored there. The architect for this project is Zaha Hadid.
Clark & Fenn Skanska is currently installing a massive, highly complex, wave-form ceiling fabricated from GRG, the modelling for this organic shaped soffit was technically very demanding and undertaken in the factory environment prior to construction. The installation demonstrates Clark and Fenn's ability to work with high value, complex materials under onerous conditions. The photos below show how the installation is going with our craftsmen working on platforms and cherry pickers at heights of over 9m.
