Skanska’s team at Heron Tower were pleased to receive a Gold Award under the City of London’s Considerate Contractor Scheme for the second year running. The presentation was made by Sheriff, Peter Cook and the Chair Woman of the scheme, Christine Cohen OBE on the 6 November 2009 in the Plaisterers’ Hall.
The award recognises the team’s success over the past twelve months in minimising the affect of the significant construction operations on the general public considering the tight island site location. The criteria judged included the appearance of the site hoardings and pedestrian gantries over footways, the efforts made to minimise dust, noise & traffic disruption caused by the works, and in liaison with neighbours.
