A Director with SRW for nine years, in addition to managing a contracting Division, Paul was responsible for establishing Skanska’s successful Facilities Services business in the UK.
Commenting on his new role, Paul Rogers said, ‘Clark and Fenn Skanska occupies a strong market position in its specialist area. My primary objective is to help move the business further forward, while maintaining the firm’s tradition of excellence and quality utilising a mix of new technology and craft skills evolved over generations.
‘‘While the first half of 2004 has been challenging, recent success in securing new contracts totalling £10 million would indicate that we are seeing a slight strengthening in the market that looks set to have a positive impact into 2005.’
Within the London area three major fit-out contracts have been awarded at Becket House, (Bovis Lend Lease), Accenture, Fenchurch St, (Overbury) and Bechtel House, Hammersmith (ISGInteriorExterior), continuing the company’s traditional experience in this field.
High quality contracts in classical plaster continue to be secured by the specialist business of George Jackson & Sons.
Several new contracts have also been won with key repeat business clients in Canary Wharf, Brentford and Bexley. In addition, a significant package has recently been completed for the BBC at The Mailbox, Birmingham. A major package has also been secured for the supply and installation of specialist ceilings and finishes to the new Chapelfield Shopping Centre in Norwich for Bovis Lend Lease.
Projects have been secured by the company’s regional office in Warrington with AstraZeneca, Fujitsu and Peel Holdings Plc, including two schemes at John Lennon Airport, Liverpool. In Manchester, major works continue for Sir Robert McAlpine at the Spinning Fields complex with several new orders for other regional main contractors coming on stream during this year.
The company is continuing to offer design and technical support to architects, quantity surveyors and main contractors on a number of very significant projects nationwide in order to maintain its position as one of the country’s leading specialists in the field of suspended ceilings and GRG/fibrous plasterwork.
