Skanska Construction’s Hong Kong based company, Gammon Construction, has recently been awarded two new contracts - one at Chek Lap Kok Airport in Hong Kong and the second in Bangkok.
At Chek Lap Kok project, Gammon has won a contract to construct a Logistics Centre for Tradeport Hong Kong Limited. Valued at £29 million (HK$320 million), this is the first phase of the building, which will initially have three levels with a total gross floor area of 31,000 square metres. It will be used to provide logistics services to shippers, freight forwarders and other clients.
The project is due to be completed in December 2002.
The Logistics Centre marks the third major contract for Gammon in the Chek Lap Kok airport development. It follows the passenger terminal foundations and HACTL SuperTerminal 1.
In Thailand, Gammon has secured a contract valued at £3.6 million (Baht 202 million) to construct a Carrefour Hypermarket in Bangkok. It involves the construction of a four-storey building and a basement and is to be completed in March 2002.
