We are proud of the inclusive environment we have created for veterans and reservists to thrive with us and our commitment to support all armed forces personnel and their families.
We value the wealth of knowledge and experience that service-leavers bring and help them to ﬁnd opportunities with us through our military recruitment channels. We also have an employee network in place to support ex-military personnel within Skanska and our reservists are offered up to 15 days of paid leave each year for armed forces reserve activities.
Our approach has been recognised by the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme when we were awarded Gold.
Lending a hand
We care about the communities where we work and regularly contribute to range of activities that add social value to society.
These include volunteering, social action projects and our lend a hand days, where we allow employees paid leave to help charitable organisations.
Our employees spend around 6,000 hours volunteering across 700 community activities each year. We also participate in joint volunteering days with customer organisations.
