Skanska is responsible for the electrical maintenance of all bus shelters across Transport for London’s network.
Covering almost 12,000 shelters across Greater London, for the benefit of two-and-a-half billion journeys annually, the work encompasses planned and reactive maintenance, including electrical testing, light replacements and general repairs.
The five-year contract was awarded in 2015 and comes with the option for a three-year extension.
Prior to the current contract being awarded, Skanska was already responsible for 7,000 of TfL’s shelters – roughly two thirds of the network – a role they had performed since 2012.
