Pinewood Studios Group now has five brand new large sound stages to help create the next generation of blockbusters, thanks to Sir Robert McAlpine, who handed over the facilities following completion of the installation of primary services and fit-out by SRW engineering services.
Collaboration was key for the Sir Robert McAlpine and SRW engineering services teams in terms of being able to deliver the challenging project in just eight months, which includes the construction of five full-sized studios, providing 15,000sqm of space that will now be used by international and domestic film and TV companies. The SRW engineering services team also improved accessibility of the stages’ house lights in terms of maintenance.
Mike Bole, Project Director, led the SRW engineering services site team. He said: “We were delighted to play our part in helping Sir Robert McAlpine hand over the buildings to Pinewood Studios on time and on budget. We also appreciate the strong, collaborative working relationship that we have developed over the course of the project.”
