Skanska UK President and CEO, Katy Dowding, joined industry leaders in Oxford to hear Chancellor Rachel Reeve's speech on driving economic growth.

Following the announcement, Katy said: "The Chancellor’s speech shows that government is listening to industry and prepared to make bold decisions. Their commitment to wide-ranging infrastructure projects is welcome. Accelerating the pace at which we can get spades in the ground and cranes in air is how we'll build Britain's future.
"We discussed the benefit of continuous dialogue between government and industry and our shared desire to work collaboratively to overcome the hurdles that prevent us building.
During the Chancellor's remarks, she spoke about the calls from business groups, including during conversations with Skanska UK, on the need to speed up infrastructure delivery.
Katy added: "As an industry and a nation, we need leaders to act with bravery, to tackle the big obstacles and unshackle businesses to be able to invest properly. At Skanska our purpose is to build for a better society – wouldn’t it be great if that was truly enabled? This Government has sent the signal that Britain is ready to grow and now we need to see the detail of the plan."
