
Adam joined Skanska in 2007 and has held a number of operational and strategic roles throughout his tenure. For the past decade he has been a member of Skanska UK’s Senior Management Team, as Director of Sustainability. He played a pivotal role in the development of Skanska UK’s target to cut direct and supply chain carbon emissions to net-zero by 2045.
Before joining Skanska Adam was an officer in the British Army and studied Anthropology at Oxford University. Outside of work Adam established the Sophie Hayes Foundation, a charity that supports women survivors of modern slavery.
Adam will take up the position of Executive Vice President on 30 June 2025. He will also become the executive sponsor of Skanska’s Origins Nationality Ethnicity (O.N.E.) employee network.

His fresh perspective and diversity of thinking will be invaluable additions to our Executive Management Team.”
Executive Vice President Harvey Francis will retire from Skanska at the end of June after sixteen years as a member of the Executive Management Team at the helm of Skanska UK’s HR function. During his tenure Harvey has driven a step-change in the company’s approach to inclusion and diversity, led the development of progressive workplace facilities and steered the business through multiple business planning cycles.
Katy Dowding said: “Harvey’s contribution to the success of the UK business has been exemplary. He has played a critical role in shaping an inclusive, ethical and people-centered culture that makes us the business we are today.”
Harvey will continue in his role as Chair of the Trustee Board for the Skanska Pension Fund, which he has held since 2011.
