The building will provide 470,000 sqft of commercial office space over sixteen floors, along with retail units at ground level. Skanska will deliver the building construction and mechanical and electrical engineering services.
The project will pioneer innovations in sustainability to create spaces that will benefit the local community for years to come. It’s targeting the International WELL Building Institute’s platinum certification and BREEAM outstanding and will also create outdoor spaces along with an auditorium, open to the community.
The ultra-sustainable development will focus on carbon reduction through attention to detail at every stage – from material selection, site operating efficiencies to modern methods of construction, using supply chain manufactured materials that can be assembled on site. It’s also designed with the community in mind to provide space for people to come together – offering extensive terraces including an urban farm and a ‘walk and talk’ track, plus a Village Square leading to a multi-purpose sports arena and auditorium.
Katy Dowding, Executive Vice President at Skanska UK, said: “This is an exciting project that will deliver a truly prestige building, fit for the future. Bringing together our passion for developing healthy spaces for people to work and enjoy, while driving down carbon in construction and operation will set 105 Victoria Street apart as a futureproof, responsible building."
The project will begin preconstruction in March 2022, with completion expected in the second quarter of 2026.
