Noemi Barrington, Project Knowledge Manager with HS2 Main Works, has been elected as a general member of the ICE Council.

Chris Campbell, Preconstruction Director with Cementation has secured a position as a regional member, representing Yorkshire and Humber. Both will commence their three-year terms on 4 November 2025.

Formed over 200 years ago, ICE is the independent professional association for civil engineers and currently has over 97,000 members worldwide.

It supports lifelong competence development, fosters sustainable infrastructure practices and helps guide the strategic direction of UK engineering.

Its Council is elected by members to support the Trustee Board, offering advice and representing the views of members.

Skanska UK President and CEO Katy Dowding said, “Many congratulations to Noemi and Chris. Our representation on this influential body strengthens Skanska’s ability to contribute meaningfully to industry-wide progress and policy.

“This recognition highlights the calibre of talent within our organisation and underscores our commitment to professional excellence and industry leadership.”

Noemi said: “I am incredibly grateful to every ICE member who took the time to vote. I am honoured to represent Skanska and to bring a contractor’s voice to the council.

“I look forward to contributing to the future of civil engineering and am always keen to hear your thoughts so do reach out if there’s anything as an ICE member you would like to discuss.”

Chris concurred, adding: “As a profession we are stronger together, which is why member engagement is vitally important. Whilst many of the professional and societal challenges we face are global, many members like to engage locally.

“I am delighted to represent, not just the 5,000 ICE members in Yorkshire and Humberside, but also to ensure the voice of contractors - and in particular specialist contractors - is well represented in these debates.”
