Lee Marks joins Skanska as Executive Vice President on Monday 16 March. On joining the business, Lee will have a phased introduction to Skanska’s global and UK operations prior to taking up his Executive Vice President (EVP) responsibilities, leading Skanska’s Building business, this summer.

President & CEO Katy Dowding said: “Lee brings more than 35 years’ construction industry experience, including at executive level, combined with a strong desire to join Skanska based on the strength of our brand and values. It’s great to have him on-board.

“Lee is passionate and fully committed to collaborative ways of working, so we can work together to deliver the very best outcomes for customers. We’ll benefit from the new perspectives that Lee will bring to the business and I’m very much looking forward to working with him as a member of our Executive Management Team.”

The appointment supports Skanska’s expansion in the building and infrastructure sectors. Lee will take over from Terry Muckian as Executive Vice President for Skanska’s building business, at which point Terry will assume executive responsibility for Skanska’s Infrastructure operations as well as Cementation Skanska, which is led by Managing Director Andy Entwistle.

The moves allows Executive Vice President & Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) Adam McDonald to be fully committed to his commercial responsibilities.

“These changes are part of a carefully managed transition of responsibilities that we set in motion in October last year,” added Katy. “It will ensure a smooth handover of responsibilities and stability for our customers. We are really excited for the opportunities ahead.”

Lee has held a number of executive positions, including most recently as Chief Operating Officer at international facade specialist Permasteelisa Group. Prior to this, Lee also worked as Group Executive Director at NG Bailey and held Commercial Director roles at Laing O’Rourke and Galliford Try.

Commenting on his appointment, Lee said: “Skanska has a strong reputation and is well known across the industry for its values driven approach to business. This was a key motivator for me in wishing to join Skanska, alongside the breadth of its expanding portfolio – such as the recent appointment to the New Hospitals Framework. I’m very much looking forward to getting started.”
