Two of Kvaerner Construction’s specialist companies are engaged on the redevelopment of Lacon House, formerly occupied by the Ministry of Defence, in Theobalds Road, Holborn for man contractor Tarmac on behalf of Land Securities.

Kvaerner Rashleigh Weatherfoil has won a £14 million contract to provide mechanical, public health, electrical and chilled ceiling installations for the 300,000 sq ft office development at 2 Theobalds Court.

The nine-storey refurbishment and new-build project includes extensive air-conditioning installations, with air-handling units and dry-air coolers on the roof and chillers at basement level.

Clark & Fenn, Kvaerner Construction’s ceiling and plaster specialist, will be responsible for the design and installation of a suspended ceiling system, incorporating the Trox chilled system and its elements within the metal ceiling tiles. Kvaerner Rashleigh Weatherfoil and Clark & Fenn have both worked for Land Securities before, carrying out similar work at 40 Strand in 1996.
