Real estate director joins Skanska Construction

Press release 30/11/2000 00:00 CET

Real estate issues facing Skanska Construction throughout the world have been consolidated with the appointment of Alistair Howse, FRICS, IRRV, as its director of Real Estate.

Mr Howse, 46, will provide strategic management for the 120 Skanska Construction Group properties around the world while their day-to-day running issues will remain the responsibility of local managers.

In addition Mr Howse will support Skanska Construction’s businesses with contracts involving real estate issues such as PFI deals which contain property equity and one-off projects like the development of the Baltic Exchange with Swiss Re.

Mr Howse’s appointment is a direct result of the company’s recent acquisition from Kvaerner by the Swedish-based global construction services company Skanska. For the last ten years he has managed the Kvaerner operational property portfolio, most recently as director of Kvaerner Estates.

Having trained with local firms, including Faulkners, near his home in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire, Mr Howse’s career has taken him to the City of London initially with Chestertons followed by Richard Main and Co and Palladian Estates before joining Trafalgar House Estates.
