More work for Skanska at showpiece Fountainbridge development

Press release 05/04/2002 00:00 CET

Skanska has been given more work on the mixed office and residential development it is building in Fountainbridge, Edinburgh, with a £4 million contract to fit out the 79 luxury apartments.

The company has already been on site for nine months building the development’s shell and core for client Fountainbridge Developments, a joint venture between Glasgow-based developer AB Hamilton and the Bank of Scotland.

Fountainbridge Developments has now asked Skanska to carry out the complete installation of building services, including all mechanical and electrical facilities, to each apartment as well as install five lifts. Skanska will also fit out the kitchen and bathroom areas to the apartments, which have stunning views over Edinburgh and are built on five levels.

The 30-week programme starts in May and will be completed by the end of the year, with a show flat finished earlier to allow prospective customers to view the accommodation.

Skanska is scheduled to complete the office accomodation, providing 102,000 square feet of commercial space, in September.
