Huge plant lift by Skanska Rashleigh Weatherfoil

Press release 23/11/2001 00:00 CET

Skanska’s M&E specialist Rashleigh Weatherfoil drafted in a 1000 tonne crane to lift into place two huge package plant rooms and two chiller units at the new headquarters building for Guinness in Park Royal, West London.

Each plant room came in two large sections after being prefabricated off-site by AC Engineering. The lifting operation was completed in two days. The heaviest sections were the two boiler units, each weighing 22 tonnes.

The plant rooms will power the 27,000 square metre building’s water and climate control systems.

The operation was part of Rashleigh Weatherfoil’s £3.5 million M&E shell and core works for main contractor Norwest Holst Construction.
