Linking the buildings, which were built separately in the 1920s and 1950s, fulfilled the brief of the client, London Merchant Securities, to provide a level of flexibility ideal for either single or multi occupier use.
As well as extending the buildings to provide 3,363 square metres of floor space, Kontor installed two new lifts, a seven-storey emergency staircase, a roof top pavilion & terrace, new partitions, finishes and joinery. New high-tech exposed M&E services including comfort cooling and internal structured cabling were also provided together with a state-of-the-art touch screen entry security system.
Architect was EPR Architects, structural engineer was Pell Frischmann, services engineer was Foremans, QS and planning supervision was Cyril Sweett.
