Early Christmas present for Cementation Foundations Skanska

Press release 10/01/2001 00:00 CET

A multi-purpose piling rig worth in excess of £600,000 has provided the best possible early Christmas present for Cementation Foundations Skanska.

This latest investment takes Skanska Construction’s specialist piling and ground engineering company’s spending on plant in the last 12 months to £2.5 million. The new rig, a versatile Junttan PM26LC, can be used to construct both continuous flight auger (CFA) or driven cast insitu piles, ensuring the company can get maximum use from its investment.

Mike Putnam, Cementation Foundations Skanska’s managing director, said: “Our customers look to us to provide the best solution for any given ground condition. This rig adds to our flexibility and our ability to provide the most economic foundation solution.”

The rig is the first in the company’s fleet to be adorned with new Cementation Foundations Skanska logos following the company’s change of name.

Mr Putnam added: “Our continuing investment in state-of-the-art technology reflects Skanska’s commitment to the specialist foundations business. Skanska is now one of the top three international foundations specialists with established businesses in the UK, USA, mainland Europe, India and the Far East.”
