Kvaerner Cementation Foundations (KCF), Kvaerner Construction’s piling and ground engineering specialist, has appointed Robin Wood, currently northern divisional director, as deputy managing director.

Based at Kvaerner Construction’s UK head offices in Maple Cross House, Rickmansworth, he will be working alongside managing director Mike Putnam in pursuing KCF’s international strategy for growth and development.

As well as continuing as operations director for Scottish and Northern Areas, Robin, aged 42, will also take responsibility for commercial, estimating and personnel matters throughout Cementation Foundations, including the achievement of Investors in People status.

Married with two children, his ground engineering experience spans nearly 20 years, from when he first joined Cementation as contracts engineer. After returning to the company in 1987, he worked as contracts manager and area manager in Scotland before being appointed a divisional director in 1996, with additional responsibility for developing and co-ordinating Kvaerner’s ground engineering activities.

Announcing the new appointment, KCF managing director Mike Putnam said: "Robin’s promotion strengthens the UK management team at Cementation, allowing us to continue focusing on developing the business overseas."
