Skanska Construction has beefed up its Civil Engineering business by appointing Clive Whitworth as managing director of Skanska UK Networks and Simon Bunn as director of the Civils operation in the North, Midlands and Scotland.
As head of Skanska Networks UK, which carries out infrastructure work for the mobile and fixed lines phone industries, Whitworth will lead Skanska’s drive to capture a growing share of this market. He has been co-ordinating the company’s Networks operations since 1999 and will continue to serve on Skanska’s UK Civil Engineering Management Board, reporting to UK Civils Managing Director Alan Tweddle.
Bunn returns to the company after an absence of three years to take charge of Skanska’s civils business in the north of the country. Prior to joining, he worked on a large variety of railway infrastructure projects across the country as operations manager for Balfour Beatty Rail Projects.
