Kvaerner Cementation India has been awarded a £1.6 million (Rs11 Crores) contract for foundation and superstructure work at an Indian Oil Corporation refinery in Barauni.
Awarded by Samsung Engineering of South Korea, the project includes work on fluid catalytic cracking units as part of an expansion scheme at the refinery.
Kvaerner Construction’s Indian-based company will construct foundations as well as carry out civil and structural work on all equipment. This includes tanks, pipe racks, cable and open trenching, buildings and all infrastructure such as roads, pavements, sewerage and drainage.
Won against competition from both local and international companies, the contract is due to be completed in 15 months.
