Luxury homes in the prestigious heart of Cheltenham are to be built by Kvaerner Construction in a contract worth £12 million.
The company has signed a design and build deal with Beaufort Western Limited to construct 87 luxury apartments and nine luxury town houses in a residential area in the centre of the town.
Work on site has just started and the three four-storey and one five-storey apartment blocks, which all include a penthouse, as well as the town houses will be completed by January 2001.
All of the apartment blocks will be built with reinforced concrete on piled foundations with pre-cast floor slabs and a structural steelwork roof. Most of the apartments will also have external balconies with Red Cedar decking and glass balustrades. Internally the buildings will be finished to a high standard.
Kvaerner Construction’s ground engineering and piling specialist, Kvaerner Cementation Foundations, is currently installing piled foundations on the project.
