Main piling work for BT’s new office development at Brentwood has been awarded to Kvaerner Cementation Foundations, Kvaerner Construction’s piling & foundations specialist.
Under the £330K contract at Brentwood, Essex, placed by Schal Construction Management, Cementation is carrying out sophisticated test piling prior to installing 458 piles up to 27 metres deep by means of continuous flight auger techniques.
The new high-tech building, specifically designed and constructed to meet BT’s operational requirements for the next millennium, will provide 18, 250 sq metres of accommodation and work space for 1,200 technical, managerial and sales staff.
