New managing director for Clark & Fenn

Press release 22/03/2001 00:00 CET

Alan Fox has been appointed as the new managing director of Clark & Fenn, the ceilings specialist and decorative finishes contractor which is part of Skanska Construction.

Previously deputy managing director, he takes over from Philip Carre who has moved to Hong Kong to head up the specialist products and fit-out business of Gammon Construction, Skanska’s Far Eastern arm.

Aged 54, Alan Fox joined Clark & Fenn as a director in 1984 and since then has been responsible for some of the UK’s largest ceiling and plasterwork projects. These include the prestige office ceilings a Tower 42 – formerly the Nat West Tower – and the giant retail outlets at the Trafford Centre in Manchester and Bluewater in Kent. He was appointed deputy managing director in 1989.

In his new post Alan will continue to expand Clark & Fenn’s role in high-tech suspended ceilings along with traditional plasterwork and GRG. Special finishes are also available in the form of Jesmonite, which is capable of replicating a range of natural finishes and polished plaster.

Said Alan Fox: “Our strategy is to expand our core activity of installing high quality metal ceilings, plasterwork and GRG while also meeting a growing demand for our special finishes.”
