Skanska has secured a £68 million contract to design and construct a brand new eight-floor office development in the City of London. 20 Gresham Street will be constructed for Hermes Real Estate and when complete, will offer 21,000 m2 of net lettable office space over eight floors plus basement level.

Skanska has combined its commercial construction and mechanical and electrical engineering expertise to offer its client a unique, integrated Skanska solution.

The project team includes City Offices (Development Manager), Kohn Pederson Fox (Architects), Waterman Partnership (Structural engineer), Hilson Moran (Services engineer), with WT Partnership undertaking the role of contract administrator, PQS and H&S planning supervisor directly for the client.

“We are tremendously excited to have reached contract signature on this exciting development,” said Dave Shadwell, Managing Director of Skanska’s commercial construction Operating Unit. “It shows that by combining our core skills, we can offer a truly innovative solution to our client’s needs.”

Work begins on site immediately, with completion set for September 2008.
