Yorkshire Ambulance scoops Skanska-sponsored award

Press release 11/04/2014 16:06 CET

The Yorkshire Ambulance Service became the proud recipients of the Skanska-sponsored Transport award at the NHS Sustainability Day 2014 awards last night (10 April).

The event was organised by Barts Health NHS Trust, along with social enterprise 4 All of Us, and took place at 15 Hatfields in London, home to the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.

Rachael Baldwin, sustainability manager at Skanska, said: “We’re delighted that the Yorkshire Ambulance Service has been recognised by winning this award. Supporting the NHS Sustainability Day initiative is important as we work with clients to reduce their energy consumption, improve waste segregation and ultimately their environments.”

The NHS programme, supported by Barts Health, is an initiative which draws attention to some of the key aims of the Institute of Healthcare Engineering and Estate Management (IHEEM), which keeps members up to date with developing technology and changing regulations in the sector.

NHS Sustainability Day took place on Thursday 27 March and saw many activities which engaged Trusts and healthcare organisations across the world to create links and remove barriers across professions and organisations, which support active change across the healthcare landscape.

Congratulations to all of the award winners at the event.
