To strengthen its strong position in the Indian construction market, Kvaerner Construction has appointed a new managing director to its Mumbai-based company, Kvaerner Cementation India.
Sunil Shah Singh is an engineer with more than 30 years experience of the Indian construction and engineering industry, the majority of which he has spent in senior management positions. His extensive knowledge of the market will help Kvaerner Construction with its strategy of international growth through local, well-established businesses.
Kvaerner Cementation India already ranks among the top three construction companies in the country and is a market leader in marine projects. It is the only company in India to receive the internationally recognised quality standard ISO 9002 for port and harbour structures, underlining its position at the head of this sector.
The company is currently constructing a 300 metres long jetty at a port terminal near Mumbai where it completed a similar project for P&O last year and has recently completed a 2.4km long liquid chemical jetty in Gujarat with its sister company Kvaerner Construction International.
