Our customer, British Land PLC awarded us the contract to deliver the Blossom Street development in London.
Working with our customer, we are helping to create a place that provides commercial space for a range of business sizes and new retail premises that complements the Spitalfield’s character.
Our team of experts will refurbish and extend existing warehouses and construct new space to create eight buildings on the site.
It is located a short walk from Liverpool Street Station and just behind Spitalfields Market. When finished, the development will provide 32,500 sqm of commercial, retail and public space.
Designed to complement the surrounding area
The design and plans for Blossom Street were coordinated by architects, AHMM, who worked with three additional architectural practices, Stanton Williams, DSDHA and Morris & Company to help create a variety of styles that complement the surrounding area.
The new buildings are targeting environmental standards to achieve BREEAM Excellent, with the existing buildings targeting BREEAM Very Good.
A full fit out
We are also carrying out a full mechanical, electrical and public health engineering fit out.
The fit out is extremely technical and complex, as the development involves a mixture of new and refurbished buildings. Working alongside Arup, we helped to develop the design of the services. This included creating highly accurate 3D models using building information modelling (BIM).
Across the different buildings, we are doing a mixture of shell and core and category A fit outs. We are also putting in all the IT and data infrastructure.
The buildings are smart, with a range of complex management systems, which we will be installing.
