Building for the future
We have built a number of schools across Essex, as part of a partnership with the county council.
Together with joint venture partner, RM plc, we undertook a £73 million contract for the development of four schools, through the government’s Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme in Essex.
Castle View School, Cornelius Vermuyden School and Columbus School and College were delivered via the Private Finance Initiative model.
Woodlands School was completed under a design-and-build contract.
Our ongoing support
Construction of the last of the four schools was completed in 2014. We remain on site providing facilities management until 2036. Our highly skilled team provides both planned and reactive maintenance services, including mechanical and electrical engineering, cleaning, security and grounds maintenance.
Since the BSF programme ended, we have has built two primary schools and refurbished another. The newly built Braiswick Primary School and Severalls Primary School have each created 420 school places. The refurbishment of Maltese Road Primary School created 120 extra places.
We also built the Thurrock Campus in Grays for South Essex College.
