Skanska’s expertise in constructing high quality commercial office projects in London has resulted in the award of a further £50 million project from Land Securities called Dashwood EC2, near Old Broad Street in the City of London.
Work starts on the scheme immediately with completion scheduled for November 2008.
Key facts
Works will comprise partial demolition of an existing 15-storey office building including the removal of external cladding, and full internal strip out back to the structure.
During the reconstruction phase, Skanska will add a further four floors to provide over 20,000m2 gross of prime fully serviced office space and 676m2 of retail space.
The removal of heavy plant rooms at the upper levels will enable the additional floors to be constructed without increasing the foundations.
The external paved and planted areas will be upgraded.
Current granite cladding will be replaced by high quality unitised double glazed cladding units.
