Skanska lets first floor of The Monument Building

The first floor, totalling 6,818sqft (633sqm) has been let to insurance company Maxis on a 10-year lease.

Maxis will join UnderwriteMe Technology Solutions, TwentyFour Asset Management, Booking.com and Portuguese bank Caixa Geral de Depósitos which have also taken office space in the building designed by Ken Shuttleworth’s Make. Olive & Squash will shortly be opening its new salad bar in one of The Monument Building’s two retail units on Fish Street Hill.

Andreas Lindelöf, Skanska UK’s Managing Director – Development, said: “The signing of the lease to insurance company Maxis follows swiftly on the heels of the letting of the ground floor to banking group Caixa Geral de Depósitos. The office space is now let to a wide range of tenants creating a vibrant mix of occupiers in this historic location.

“There is strong interest in the remainder of the scheme demonstrating the evidently buoyant market for growing companies looking for Grade A office space in the heart of the City.”

The Monument Building, features a ‘curtain’ of twisted, anodised aluminium fins on the south façade, four terraces, a large reception area, state-of-the-art cycle storage and shower facilities.

Savills and CBRE represented Skanska in the transaction. Maxis was represented by JLL.
