Skanska UK Plc appoints new Executive Vice President

David Tydeman has been appointed to the board of Skanska UK Plc as Executive Vice President (EVP).

David, who takes up his position on February 5th, will initially be responsible for leading a strategic review across Skanska UK. This review will focus on the strategic plans spanning 2007-2010-2013 so that the business positions itself to maximise its objectives of becoming the UK’s leading provider in the integrated delivery of projects to both the benefit of Skanska and its clients.

Following this strategic review, from August 2007, David will head up Skanska UK's Construction Business Stream which includes the commercial construction and mechanical & electrical Operating Units and will succeed Peter Coote.

Peter Coote, will retain his board position with Skanska UK Plc, but in the role of Senior Executive Vice President, will undertake risk and opportunity reviews not just in the UK but also across Skanska globally.

David brings with him a wealth of experience gained over a career spanning 30 years. Beginning as a Marine Engineer at Lloyds Register of Shipping, he rose to a number of key senior positions in organisations such as Cap Gemini Management Consultants, Rolls Royce/Vickers Plc and most recently Chief Operating Officer of Morrison Plc.
