Skanska Construction’s Hong Kong-based company, Gammon Construction, has returned to Chater Road in Hong Kong with an £84 million (HK$ 978 million) contract. This follows the successful completion of foundation work at the site.
The company will construct a 29-storey office development, which will include three basement floors, a three-storey podium and 23 storeys of offices. The site is in a prime area in the Central District of Hong Kong. Working for its long-term local client, Hong Kong Land, Gammon is due to complete the building by mid 2002.
Under a separate contract Gammon has already completed a year-long, £14 million piling project on the site.
