During this period, £1,229.2 million of orders have been booked by Skanska UK. In the latest quarter, this includes an £86.6 million mechanical and electrical fit-out contract at the Battersea Power Station redevelopment and a £49.9 million site wide infrastructure project at the North West Cambridge Development.

The company is well placed for 2015, according to Putnam: “We are in good shape and our pipeline of future work remains strong and continues to grow.”

A number of projects have been successfully completed in 2014, including the new Thurrock campus at South Essex College, Crossrail’s Western Ticket Hall Box at Bond Street Station, two sections of the M25, phase two at St Bartholomew’s Hospital in London and Bath Spa University’s ‘commons’ building. Additionally, Skanska has finished a number of projects in the City of London, including commercial developments Moorgate Exchange and Bevis Marks.

Skanska UK’s projects and teams continue to win awards, including a British Construction Industry award for building information modelling at 66 Queen Square in Bristol.

During the quarter, Skanska UK announced its sponsorship of Bristol as European Green Capital 2015, with Putnam commenting: “In the future, cities will only be one colour and that’s green. Skanska is keen to share our global sustainability expertise to support Bristol in achieving its ambitious aims. We’re looking forward to working together and inspiring other cities to follow its lead.”

Putnam is positive about the future: “We have a healthy order book and a good pipeline of projects. I believe Skanska UK is on track to deliver another strong and stable performance in 2014.”
