Kvaerner Construction’s UK Building sector has appointed two new directors, Kevin Jones (42) and William Smillie (50), to head up its Warrington and Glasgow offices respectively.
A native of Liverpool, Kevin Jones is returning to his roots. He describes the changes sweeping through the North-West and North Wales as "unparalleled," spurred by EC regional funding and the forthcoming Commonwealth Games.
"I am delighted to be returning at a time of exciting investment opportunities and I look forward to supporting the Kvaerner team’s participation in building the future." he said. He joins Kvaerner from Tarmac.
Willie Smillie. a Scot, is also working on his home territory. He takes responsibility for the company’s activities in Scotland and joins Kvaerner from HBG GA Ltd.
"I was attracted by the Kvaerner team-building approach to projects, encouraging involvement and responsibility among staff at all levels. Kvaerner in Scotland is better known for its shipbuilding and oil and gas activities, so I am looking forward to creating the same recognition for construction," he said.
