Event to inspire people to choose a career in construction

The Open Doors Weekend event, to be held on the 6 and 7 March, expects to attract over 200 people to Skanska projects. Visitors can go on a site tour, speak to the project team and learn more about career opportunities.

The following sites are participating in Open Doors Weekend:

  • 66 Queen Square, Bristol
  • Bermondsey Dive Under, London
  • Great Ormond Street Hospital, London
  • M1 Junction 19, Rugby
  • Oasis Academy, Marksbury Road, Bristol
  • One New Street Square, London
  • Southville primary school – Myrtle annex, Bristol

Skanska Executive Vice President Bill Hocking said: “It’s great to be supporting Open Doors Weekend again. This special event gives people the chance to see what’s behind the site hoardings and to talk to the people that work in this exciting industry. Visitors can discover what it’s really like to work on site and find out about a huge variety of career opportunities available.”

There are still a few places left to visit some of our projects. To sign-up for a site tour and for more information go to the Open Doors Weekend website.

Open Doors is organised by the UK Contractors Group (UKCG), the Scottish Contractors Group, the Industry Training Board and Sector Skills Council, CITB, the Chartered Institute of Building and the Considerate Constructors Scheme.
