Creating an environment for students to learn and grow

Our team of experts completed and handed over Trinity Academy, a 1,220-place secondary school in Bristol, ready for the new academic year in September 2021.

The academy provides school places for 900 students aged 11 to 16, as well as 320 sixth-form students.

The building includes a 570-seater concert hall, drama and dance studios, a four-court sports hall, plus bespoke classrooms for art, textiles, design technology, food technology and nine science laboratories. In addition to general classrooms, the school boasts a large library, sixth form study and social areas, as well as a special educational needs centre and a large canteen area. The local community will also be able to use the concert hall, sports facilities, and main hall areas.

Helping to support the community

Regeneration and growth of the local area means the additional school places delivered by Trinity Academy helps support local children and ensures a smooth  transition from primary to secondary school.

The completion of this academy is another example of Skanska’s team of experts transforming the educational landscape in Bristol, in partnership with Bristol City Council and the Bristol Local Education Partnership (LEP). Since the LEP was formed in 2006, Skanska has delivered over 70 school projects, creating over 15,000 secondary places and more than 8,000 new primary places across the city.
